We Are Struck by Omega-3 Deficiency
Our bodies are going through a lot of processes on a daily basis. At times, it can be incredibly difficult to figure out, what caused the pain or any other problems you are undergoing. Whether we are experiencing insomnia, memory loss, or as little as joint pain, all of these are the signs that something is happening within your body. This is the way your body is trying to talk to you.
We are always trying to keep an eye on proper consumptions of tons of nutrients in order to stay healthy. This includes calcium, vitamin D, and magnesium. But, the one that constantly gets left over the board is Omega-3.
The thing is that Omega-3 fatty acids are an essential that strongly affects human health. Every single person must make certain they have a proper supply of it in their body or its lack may cause serious consequences. If you are not sure, whether you have enough of Omega-3 or are running into its deficiency, continue reading this piece to find out the symptoms of the latter, so you are able to make it right.
Brittle or Soft Nails
If your nails peel or break off easily, it’s not only annoying. In fact, it is a sign that there’s something very important lacking in your body. Perhaps, it’s time to add some Omega-3 to your daily diet, if you always have to deal with broken nails or if they’ve become much softer, than they should be. Aim to consume fish or veggies with high contents of Omega-3 to fulfill the deficiency.
Insomnia
Another sign of being low on Omega-3 is having a hard time falling asleep, when you go to bed at night, or even difficulties waking up in the morning. Your body is simply giving you an alert. So, it’s time to replenish your Omega-3 supply. Make sure to add the nutrient into your morning meals – this will help it settle in your body during the day and not keep you awake at night.
Joint Pain
When you experience joint pain, it’s more, than just uncomfortable. It is as well really frustrating. The fact that at some point you can’t do something that you normally can is incredibly discouraging. When you start noticing that your joint pains or arthritis outbreaks become more frequent, this simply means that your body is screaming for more Omega-3.
Bad Concentration
It is difficult to stay focused, when your body is running low on Omega-3. Increase the nutrient’s intake and your concentration levels will increase.
Memory Issues
Inability to focus is not the worst Omega-3 deficiency problem. The lack of this fatty acid may cause a hard time in accessing your own memories. You may start feeling like details are continuously slipping away. And that’s not even the worst part.
Weight Gain
When you lack Omega-3 in your body, you start gaining weight. The thing is that this fatty acid is known to increase the metabolism, thus keeping you from adding extra pounds.
Dried Skin
Human skin requires Omega-3, as the nutrient helps it stay healthy and properly hydrated. Sufficient amounts of the fatty-acid in your body will provide your skin with a younger appearance. Appropriately hydrated skin is more resilient towards external effects.
Thinning and Dull Hair
Another sign of Omega-3 deficiency is constant falling out of your hair and its overall bad look (lack of gloss, for example). In order to make your hair shiny and healthy-looking, you need to consume proper amounts of this fatty acid. Omega-3 helps strengthening your hair’s structure, thus reducing its falling out and damaging.
Problems with Eyesight
Omega-3 deficiency also causes various issues with eyes, including glaucoma, dry eye syndrome, and many other conditions that harm your eyesight.
Immune System Failure
Omega-3 is crucial for immune system. When your body doesn’t have enough of this fatty acid in it, your immune system starts failing. This means that you start getting sick time and again. The weaker your immune system, the worse is its capability of keeping up with the preventive actions it should take in case of illness.
Although there are many foods that contain Omega-3 fatty acids, the most prominent source is fish. However, other rich sources containing the nutrient include such leafy greens, as arugula, spinach, and lettuce.
In case you suspect Omega-3 deficiency, you should contact and then visit your doctor. Get consulted and adjust your diet, so you may live the best life possible.
