The Secret to Lasting Marriage: Kate Middleton and Prince William Look up to This Power Couple

Kate Middleton and Prince William are, no doubt, one of the most admirable couples out there, but their marriage is far from without flaws. With more than a decade of being together, one can’t help but wonder how they remain strong with the test of time and pressure of being senior royals – it turns out, they look up to Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip for inspiration.

A Lot of Things on Their Plate

With her husband being the future ruler of the British monarchy, never-ending royal engagements, and rearing three children, there’s a lot of things going on in Kate’s life. Her marriage to Prince William is arguably exposed to the public eye, making them more careful about how they present themselves to the world.

But if one looks at them, they remain graceful and on top of their game. For most of their lives, they have spent serving the public and preparing themselves to be the King and Queen Consort in the near future, earning the approval of their fans.

Strong Marriage

The couple met at the University of St. Andrews and began dating in 2002, which meant they were in each other’s lives now for almost two decades. This included two breakups in 2004 and 2007, both of which were about infidelity matters, although these only made their bond stronger.

They exchanged vows in 2011 and were blessed with three kids, Princess Charlotte, and Princes George and Louis. Prince William and Kate easily became one of the power couples that are meant to be copied.

However, just last year, their marriage was once again rocked by a cheating scandal that involved Rose Hanbury, a close family friend. While it was definitely a malicious rumor, neither of the successors of the throne really addressed the issue, making the public believe that it wasn’t true.

Kate’s Inspiration

It is a no-brainer that both parties need to put in the effort to make a relationship work, and that is also applicable to the Cambridges. When it comes to staying steadfast in their marriage even when things get overwhelming, the couple reportedly looks up to Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip, who tied the knot in 1947.

In an interview, Kate revealed how she is in awe of how the Queen still has a sense of commitment and how her 98-year-old husband remains supportive of her no matter what. The 38-year-old admitted she and her husband still have a long way to go but the monarch’s relationship with her better half is downright admirable and special.
